The culinary masters at The London Hotel Restaurant

Meet Steve Wellstead and his team. Steve is The London Hotel’s resident chef. His inspiration to cook came from his mother’s Sunday roasts and he embarked on his culinary adventure 34 years ago.

Steve has been at The London Hotel for years and his love for the place brought him back after a few side adventures. “I just love working at The London Hotel. The people are great and the vibe is just really good. It’s a place where history and modern life come together for a unique pub experience.”

Steve’s favourite dishes to prepare are Sunday roasts and his famed deep dish pies. He will not, however, give away the recipe. Steve decides what goes into his pies on the day. “It’s all about fresh produce. I work with whatever looks lush and full of taste to make a different pie every time.”

Steve Wellstead is an award winning chef and powered The London Hotel to Three Schooner certification. His background in fine dining pushes him to add something extra to pub grub, making it great pub grub that not only looks the part, but tastes delicious.

“Pub grub does not have to be boring, and that is what we strive for here at The London Hotel, whether you are ordering from the bar menu, or our à la carte dining room selection, your tastebuds will be treated to a tantalizing food experience.”
